Heat Pump Installation in Lethbridge

Year-round heating and cooling, sized for your home and set up for Southern Alberta's climate.

A heat pump heats your home in winter and cools it in summer by moving heat instead of making it. As local heat pump installers, our licensed team handles heat pump installation and replacement for homes across Lethbridge and Southern Alberta, sized properly and set up for our climate.

Heat Pump Installation

Adding a heat pump to your home, sized for the house and matched to your existing ductwork. We specialize in retrofits, so older homes are no problem, and our team handles the permits.

Dual-Fuel Systems: Heat Pump Plus Gas Furnace

Our favourite setup for Southern Alberta. The heat pump carries the mild days and chinooks, and the gas furnace takes over when a real cold snap hits. Trane heat pumps pair cleanly with gas furnaces, so the two work together as one system.

Heat Pump Replacement

Older heat pump getting noisy or struggling to keep up? We'll look at what you have and recommend the right replacement, with good, better, and best options and clear pricing.

Service and Seasonal Checkups

An annual checkup keeps a heat pump running efficiently and protects your warranty. If your outdoor unit stays iced up or isn't keeping the house comfortable, call us and we'll take a look.

Will a Heat Pump Work in a Lethbridge Winter?

Yes, with the right setup. On milder days and when a chinook blows through, a heat pump heats your home efficiently. For the coldest stretches, we usually recommend pairing it with a gas furnace so the house stays warm no matter what the forecast says.

Heat pumps are also a great fit for homes with solar, since you can heat and cool with your own power.

Heat Pump FAQs

How long does a heat pump install take?

Most heat pump installs take one to two days, depending on your home and whether it's part of a dual-fuel setup.

Do I still need a furnace if I get a heat pump?

In Southern Alberta we usually recommend keeping a gas furnace for backup heat in a dual-fuel setup. The heat pump covers mild weather and the furnace handles the deep cold.

Will a heat pump work with my existing ductwork?

In most homes, yes. We size the system for your house and your existing ducts, and we'll tell you up front if anything needs to change.

Is it normal for a heat pump to ice up?

Yes, in cold weather. The outdoor unit runs a defrost cycle to clear the ice. If it stays iced over, call us and we'll take a look.

Are there rebates for heat pumps?

If there are active rebates when you're getting a quote, we'll flag them and help you apply.
